or makes a big mess.

San Amaro Singles, Book 1

Corey Fenwick keeps her bitter past as hidden as the sweet centers inside the handmade chocolates she sells to a growing list of upscale customers. Experience has taught her the only person she can rely on is herself, so her best-friends-with-benefits relationship with Matt is perfect—no strings attached.

After his last girlfriend deemed him “boring”, Matt Ferber watched her ride off on the back of a Harley with a rock musician. Figuring he’s doomed to “let’s just be friends” with the women he cares about, the arrangement with Corey suits him fine too. Until his old friend Dylan Schell rolls into town to hang out while recovering from a surfing injury.

The sexy bad boy makes Corey’s mouth water, and she figures a harmless fling won’t hurt, especially when Dylan suggests she come between him and Matt—in bed.

It’s a win-win-win situation…until somehow there are strings attached. And too late they realize they’re getting all tangled up.

Excerpt #1

Corey lay on her back beside Matt in his bed and smiled up at the ceiling, her body still pulsing from an excellent orgasm. “You really should have asked that girl out, you know,” she said.
Matt turned onto his side to face her. “What girl?”
“That waitress who was coming on to you in the bar.”
He snorted. “She was not coming on to me.”
“Yes, she was.” Corey smiled at him, lifted a lazy hand to touch her fingertips to his scruffy cheek. Matt was a good-looking guy. Why wouldn’t a girl come on to him? She pushed her fingers through his thick brown hair, all wildly tousled. She’d probably done that to him, in the throes of the hot sex they’d just had.
“Whatever,” he said. “You know I’m not into dating.”
“Yeah. I know. Me either.” She stroked his hair, the strands silky against her fingers, then dragged her index finger down the slope of his nose. “You have such a nice nose. It’s perfect.”
He grinned, grabbed her hand and kissed her fingers. “Thank you. I’m very proud of my nose. I work hard to keep it in such fine shape.”
She giggled.
Matt’s phone beeped from the table beside the bed. He reached for it and read the screen. “Dylan,” he reported. “He’s in San Diego. He’s got his baggage and his rental car, and he’s just leaving the airport. Says he’ll be here in an hour.”
“I guess I should go.”
“No. Stay. I want you to meet him.”
She smiled at him. He was all excited about seeing his best friend—his other best friend, besides her. Though it was too bad Dylan was coming to visit because he’d been injured. She’d never met Matt’s old high school buddy because Dylan Schell was too busy traveling around the world surfing. Dylan had been on his way to winning the Billabong Pro competition in Australia until he’d taken a bad fall and smashed his foot up. Corey’s insides did a little roll thinking about someone in pain. The accident had ended that competition and now he was on his way home to San Amaro to visit his old friend while he recuperated.
“Okay,” she agreed. She lifted her arms above her head and did a whole-body stretch, feeling so relaxed and mellow after great sex. Mmmm. She could use a tiny little nap. She pulled the soft covers around her naked body, snuggled into Matt’s pillow, breathed in the so-familiar scent of him, his clean, spicy-herbal scent mingled with the laundry detergent he used.
“Hey, you going to sleep?” He nudged her with his bare knee.
She opened one eye and peered at him. “Maybe.”
“But I’m hungry.”
“So go eat something.”
He groaned. “I guess that means you’re not going to make me something.”
She closed her eyes and snuggled back into the bed without remorse. “Nope.”
He laughed softly, and she felt the quick brush of his lips over her cheek before he climbed out the other side of his bed.

She awoke to the sounds of deep male laughter coming from down the hall of Matt’s house. She blinked into the darkness and her stomach gave a growl of hunger. How long had she slept?
Gah! Three hours! What the…? She threw back the covers and sat on the side of the bed, pressing her hands to her cheeks. Yeah, she’d been exhausted. She’d been working like crazy lately so it was no wonder she’d crashed like that. But geez, she was at Matt’s place and holy crap, his friend Dylan was coming…no, she’d slept so long he was already there, and he and Matt were having a great time, from the sounds of their talking and laughing.
Clothes. She needed her clothes. She flicked on the lamp beside the bed, stood and stretched again, torn between wanting to climb back into bed and sleep for a week, and meeting Matt’s friend. She sighed. No choice, really. She had to get up early in the morning to make chocolate, which meant she had to sleep at her place, and besides, it would be kind of rude to ignore the guys.
She found her clothes on the chair, pulled on her panties and jeans, slipped on her bra and T-shirt. Still a little dozy, she ran her hands through her hair and shook it down her back, then wandered down the hall toward the voices she heard. She stepped into the living room, blinking a little at the bright light.
The two men sat on Matt’s couch, one at either end, each with a beer in hand, laughing again. Matt had Coldplay playing from his iPod, now docked into the speakers he’d paid a fortune for, and he looked up at her and smiled. “Hey there, sleepyhead.”
“Sorry I crashed so long,” she said, rubbing her eyes. “I guess I was tired.”
The two guys stood, which was so polite it made her smile. She looked at Matt’s friend. “Hi,” she said, moving toward him with her hand extended. “You must be Dylan. I’m Corey.”
Dylan took her hand in his, a big, strong hand with a firm grip. “Yup, I’m Dylan.”
Dylan Schell was tall, about the same height as Matt, and very muscular. Not that Matt wasn’t, he definitely had muscles, but Dylan was really muscular. He smiled, a broad charming smile that revealed white teeth, a contrast to his tanned face. His straight dark hair hung around his face and over his forehead. Although he stood, he hadn’t put weight on one leg, and her gaze dropped briefly to the plastic boot on his left foot.
“Nice to meet you, Corey,” he said. His light gray eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled. He shot a glance at Matt as if he’d been unaware she was there, down the hall, in Matt’s bed.
She knew what he was thinking but as usual, wasn’t sure what to say to tell him it wasn’t what he thought. Her relationship with Matt was a little unusual, maybe, or maybe not so much, but it worked for them. People called it “friends with benefits”, which is what they’d both agreed it would be after that night they’d ended up in bed together a couple of months ago.
“Matt mentioned you, but he didn’t tell me you were gorgeous,” Dylan said.
“He didn’t?” She expressed mock outrage and sent a glare at Matt. “I can’t believe that. He’s always going on about how gorgeous I am, sometimes I can’t shut him up.”
Both guys laughed and Matt rolled his eyes.
Dylan still held her hand in his and still smiled down at her, and the admiring way he looked her over made her tingle inside. She couldn’t help but smile back at him. Holy hotness, this was one sexy hunk of man.

I'm a married mother of two who lives a very ordinary life outside of my imagination. When I'm not writing I'm usually reading. I also like to cook and that means I like to read cookbooks and cooking magazines. In the summer I enjoy spending time gardening and in the winter I like to read gardening magazines and seed catalogues. I love lying on the beach or on my deck with a glass of wine and a good book. I also love to travel. As you can see, pretty much all my activities involve reading somehow! Although I don't have as much time for it any more, I also love to shop, especially for clothes and shoes. Some think I'm obsessed with shoes but that is not true (although my husband would point out that there is no room left in our closet).

Q&A and Giveaway with Cristiane Serruya: Trust: A New Beginning...

I am so happy to have Cristiane here today talking about her new book: Trust: A New Beginning. The blurb for this book caught my attention immediately and I cannot wait to read. I LOVE this cover. Cristiane has been such a pleasure to interact with and from reading her bio I greatly admire her. Please help me make her feel welcome and be sure to leave a comment.

1 Lucky WINNER will get their choice of either a paperback copy or an eBook copy of Trust:A New Beginning. See Rafflecopter below!!

Trust: A New Beginning (Trust #1)
Synopsis:
They are beautiful. They are rich. They are strong willed and successful. They have everything, but love. And each one of them has a dark secret looming in their past.

This is the first book of a trilogy featuring Sophia, a Brazilian widow, Ethan, an English tycoon, and Alistair, a Scottish banker. In Europe, in the months after October 2009, their paths will cross and clash.

An adult contemporary romance, TRUST: A NEW BEGINNING is lavishly set in a billionaire's Europe, deriving its strength from realistic and dramatic character interactions in their hunt for trust and love.

Sophia is a 25 year old Brazilian widow. Intelligent and ravishing, she flees from her own country after a tragic incident. Hiding from everyone and everything, she remains alone, torn between the love for a dead man, the torment of living without part of her memory and the fear of moving on. Ethan is one of the most important tycoons in the steel industry. As the memory of an awful evening in his adolescence haunts him night and day, he keeps looking for an elusive woman whom he could love - and who would love him - as he never has in all his 35 years... Until he finds Sophia. Alistair is a 34 year old powerful banker, searching for one–night stands with women who will warm his bed. And that he can punish physically to abate his anger for his late wife's black deeds and his own guilt for being such a debauched man for so many years. Any woman will do, and he has many to choose from, as they all fall instantly for his manly, devilish charming ways.

What was your inspiration for writing Trust?
I wanted to tell an exciting story about people that are ridiculously wealthy and beautiful but, like anyone, are empty without love. Money helps, but it can’t buy you love.
Trust is an erotic trilogy, so I couldn’t leave out a couple of handsome hunks and a sexy woman. And, of course, hot sex scenes. This is what we want: Lust and love. As for the scenes involving Alistair and Sophia, I would advise you not to read them in public in case you blush.

Sophia is very passionate about her work helping abused women and children. Did you draw on your own experiences as a lawyer when you included this in the book?
Children and women are still very much abused and too many cases still go unpunished. And I’m talking about many types of abuse: verbal abuse, violence and sexual violence. So I wanted to try and raise awareness through her character, but in a way that might touch people more strongly, through fiction.

The character of Alistair has a penchant for BDSM. What can you tell us about this?

This subject is a new fad. In November 2010, 30 Seconds To Mars released a videoclip for their song Hurricane. It caused great controversy due to the strong and violent sexual content. My book treads on the same subject as my Law School thesis. Alistair’s character introduces my opinions about this subject. Can this unconventional subject be dealt with differently? I’m really excited to hear the readers’ thoughts about it. Unanimity is boring.

Of all the characters in the book, Ethan is the most surprising. He’s like an onion, revealing different layers of himself throughout the book. At first glance, he might seem like just a conceited, power crazy businessman, but further along, we get to see a bit more of what is underneath this disturbed man.
Oh, I love Ethan’s character, but I wouldn’t say he’s surprising. He is like so many troubled people that infest our world today. He’s the product of horrible parents, who, one way or another, profoundly hurt their offspring, because they are selfish, criminally negligent or perverted. Children need care and education. They need limits and love, so they can learn to live in society. That is exactly what Ethan didn’t have.

In the book, the characters are always going away to spend their weekends at gorgeous locations and they have wonderful sports cars and jewelry and clothes. And you describe them perfectly. Can you tell us about this?
I love to travel, wear fancy clothes and drive sports cars. And I wanted my readers to feel what those billionaire characters do, so I’ve used lavish descriptions so that my readers can imagine the scenes in their head. Like a film.
In TRUST there are many beautiful places to visit, many wonderful outfits the characters wear, fancy restaurants where they eat, and so on. I hope the reader will be able to taste the wines, go to the parties, drive the powerful sports cars and lie down in the soft beds with the characters and feel their pleasures and emotions.

What can we expect the installment of the TRUST series?
The next book of the trilogy, TRUST: BETRAYED is going to be released in the middle of March, max the beginning of April. In it, the readers will find an exciting continuation of the story of Ethan, Alistair and Sophia.

Tell us a little bit about you.
I'm a lawyer, who specializes in cases of sexual abuse and violence against children and women. I also have a Masters in Business Law and a BA in Fine Arts. I speak four languages fluently - Portuguese, English, French and Italian - and I have studied three other: Spanish, German and Hebrew.
I lived and studied in England, France, Italy and Switzerland and traveling is one of my passions.
After twenty-two years of practicing law, I decided to give writing a go. And - amazingly - it was just the piece that was missing in my life.

Reviewed: Jared by Teresa Gabelman...BEST OF THE BEST RATING...

Book #2
Jared (The Protectors, #2)
The VC Warriors are an elite group of vampire who protect innocents, whether human or those of their own race. Jared Kincaid, along with other Warriors, are shocked when a fiery red head with a gun and attitude, bring news of young teens being turned into an army of half-breed vampires capable of taking out all VC Warriors.

Breaking into the famed VC Warriors compound was definitely not the smartest thing Tessa Pride has ever done, but she will do anything for her brother, Adam. The Warriors held the one person she knew was responsible for her brother being turned into a half-breed and nothing will stop her from getting what she needs to help her brother, not even a Warrior whose eyes could make her melt with one look.

Jared and Tessa join forces in a desperate scramble to find who is responsible. With a war between Warriors and half-breeds brewing, suspicions of traitors in their midst put the lives of everyone involved on the line.
I am such a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Teresa Gabelman and this series!! I could just hug her for writing Jared!!! lol  I have LOVED LOVED LOVED Jared from the start and have been not so patiently waiting for his book. I was so happy that his character was the same as she wrote him in Damon. Teresa didn't stray from the core of his character but added to him and I fell in love with his character even more. I hate when secondary characters get their own books and then the author writes them totally different or gives them a story line that changes what I loved about them in the first place. One of the things that I LOVED about Jared from the beginning was his playfulness, humor and charm and that was exactly how he was written in his book. So much fun and I thank Teresa for writing him this way!!

Not only is this my favorite book of the series so far but it is definitely one of my favorite books period!! So well written and entertaining. Everything that I look for in a read. I cannot wait for Duncan, Sid, Pam and Adam to get their books. I also loved Nicole and Damon in this book so much!! They had some great scenes and that had me going back and rereading their book!! lol I love how Nicole was with Damon. Oh...I was so not expecting Pam's story line and it broke my heart~can't wait to see what happens with her. Steve was another character that was so funny.

Oh...I LOVED Tessa and Adam. Such great characters. I loved how they looked out for each other and their grandfather. Tessa is definitely one of my favorite heroines. The things she said cracked me up~I LOVED how she interacted with Jared!! Oh...I loved how they first met!! So good!! I just loved her and Jared so much. I loved how they teased each other. Such a fun couple. And the sex was definitely HOT!! One of my favorite scenes is when Jared is driving the mustang and another is when Tessa is confronted by the old man in the nursing home about the condoms!!! SO FREAKING FUNNY!!! Jared *sigh*

Jared is definitely a perfect example of why I love to read. SO FREAKING AWESOME!! It is these rare books by authors that are truly gifted in telling a story that just blow me away and leave me wanting more. These characters and stories grab hold and dig in and don't let go till long after the story is over. Teresa is definitely one of these authors and I am so glad that I was introduced to her and her writing.

Not only is this in my keeper pile to be reread but I definitely have to get it in paperback also!! :)  Love this cover!!

BEST OF THE BEST RATING!!!

Reviewed: The Men With The Golden Cuffs by Lexi Blake...Best of the Best rating...

The Men With The Golden Cuffs (Masters and Mercenaries, #2)
A woman in danger…
Serena Blake is a bestselling author of erotic fiction. She knows how to write a happy ending but hasn’t managed to find one of her own. She has no one left to turn to except a pair of hired bodyguards. They promise to guard her body, but no one can protect her heart.
Two men in search of love…
Adam Miles and Jacob Dean are halves of a whole. They’ve spent their entire adult lives searching for the one woman who can handle them both. Adam is the playful, indulgent lover, while Jacob is the possessive, loving Dom. When Serena comes into their lives, Adam is certain that she’s the one. But Jacob’s past comes back to haunt them all. He is suspicious of Serena’s story, and his concerns are driving a wedge between him and Adam. But when the stalker strikes, they will have to come together or lose each other forever…
"They could handle all her needs. They were a one-stop boyfriend shop."
(Adam to Jake about Serena. lol )

I LOVED this book. I instantly loved Serena and I was already in love with Jake and Adam. I was hooked from the start. Such a HOT SEXY FUNNY read. My favorite of the series so far.

Serena was such a great character. She was so sweet and funny and I just loved that she was an erotic author. I loved how Adam took care of her and took over everything else so she could just write. He was so sweet with her. And Jake...Oh, Jake...just loved him as the Dom and Adam as the more playful one. They were definitely 2 parts of a whole~Lexi wrote their characters so good. One of my favorite scenes was when Jake and Serena had sex for the first time. Oh, I hurt for Serena so much when Adam and Jake confronted her and accused her of being behind the stalking and then the scene at the club where Jake acted so cold towards her but the ending of that scene was a great one.

Loved that my favorite characters returned from the previous book. Liked Sean so much more in this book. Ian...Oh, Ian...he is one of my favorites and I cannot wait for his book. Loved Liam~he was so funny. I love how they all interact with each other. I also loved the scenes with Serena and her friends~so funny.

I so didn't want it to end. Just a great mix of laughter, tears, love, kinky menage sex, friendship and drama. I can't wait for more.

How could I not love a book that has gorgeous lovable heroes that walk around shirtless and in leathers and worship and protect their women and put them above all else. This is definitely a series for me!! lol

Best of the Best rating!!
