What could be worse than having a long-over affair with your boss—the governor—hit the headlines? Professional and personal exile. Banished from the state capital to ride out the media storm in Shadow Valley, Montana, Megan Archer is tasked with promoting cooperation between local police and the federal agents investigating the area's drug trade. When she's rescued from a near-drowning by handsome Joe Cody, Megan thinks things might be looking up. Until she finds out that her savior is an alleged drug kingpin and head of a notorious crime family. Yes, Joe has an edge, but the attraction between them is too intense to resist. She refuses to believe that the guy who saved her is a criminal.
Megan has a responsibility to the law, but in this case a job well done might mean Joe's downfall. And as Megan uncovers more secrets, it becomes clear that Joe's not the only one in town who can't be trusted. Something's rotten in Shadow Valley...

This is the first book that I have read from Kate Sherwood and it definitely will not be the last. Shadow Valley was another book that captured my attention from the beginning and wouldn't let go. I was entertained through out the book and I didn't want to put it down.
Shadow Valley was a short easy read with laughter, romance, HOT sex and a great hero and heroine. I loved Joe and Megan. Joe *sigh* He was everything that I want in my heroes. He was protective, loyal, caring, sweet, loving, strong, stubborn, sexy, HOT, and charming. A bad boy turned good but not too good!! ;p lol I also liked Megan's character. She was sweet and funny and a little bit kick~ass!! They were great together. I love how she kept after Joe about needing a dog and how he kept denying it. lol :)
Love this cover!!
Great ending but wished the story was just a little longer and the epilogue a little later in their relationship. But other than that~just a great read!!
Definitely a keeper and I will be looking for more from Kate Sherwood. 4 out of 5 rating!!
***ARC obtained per NetGalley and Carina Press~Thank you!! :)
