Question of the Week:
Has a book ever left you feeling depressed? If so, make sure to share what it was and why?
The answer is a HUGE YESSSSSS!!

I usually am pretty careful of the books that I choose to read because I need a HEA in my books!!! This is the entire reason that I read!! Don't get me wrong I love the tortured hero and I love the whole boy meets girl they fall in love break up fall back in love then HEA!!!

I love Marie Force's books and style of writing as this is the type of story she does best!! That is what made it so much worse for me. The book is Marking Time by Marie Force and it was the way she left the characters of Reed and Kate that depressed me.

I was totally depressed for weeks after reading this book!!! I even went so far as to BEG her to write more for them and to please give them their HEA and put me out of my misery!!!  What she did to them still depresses me thinking about it right now!!! LOL

This also leads to the reason that I read the epilogue or ending chapters of some books first!! LOL :)
“Marking Time” continues the story begun in “Treading Water” as Clare Harrington begins a new life. She’s considered a miracle, but everything that’s happened since she recovered from a three-year coma has been something less than miraculous. Now left to grapple with the aftermath of a selfless decision, she is home from the hospital and trying to figure out what the next chapter in her miraculous recovery has in store for her.

Meanwhile, her eighteen-year-old daughter Kate, a talented singer and songwriter, sets out to pursue her musical dreams in Nashville. Her parents have agreed to allow Kate to spend a year there, but they couldn't have anticipated Kate falling in love with a much older man. Her newly divorced parents are forced back together to confront their wayward daughter. Spanning from Newport, Rhode Island, to Nashville, Tennessee, to Stowe, Vermont, "Marking Time" is the story of new beginnings and new loves.

Now it's your turn!

  1. I have to say that I wasn't thrilled about her first book so I never really read the others.

    1. LOL--Hey there Naughty Twin!! I don't think that you would like her because she is not dirty enough for you!!! LOL I wouldn't exactly consider her sex scenes or style of writing erotica. :)

  8. I've only read Line of Scrimmage from her but my friend is a huge Marie Force fan so I've had these on my TBR list.
I think your epilogue idea is a good one, I've never peaked at the back but to ensure a HEA sometimes I think I might. lol
Thanks for participating in the follow!
