Book Blitz & Giveaway: Hot Shot by Lynn Raye Harris...

Title: Hot Shot
Author: Lynn Raye Harris
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Cool under pressure... Until now.
Hostile Operations Team sniper Jack "Hawk" Hunter is cool, methodical, and utterly lethal. Nothing rattles Jack's calm. But that was before he learned he fathered a child three years ago--a child who has just been kidnapped.
Gina Domenico is a superstar, a pop sensation with a string of hit records. But deep inside, she's still the lonely girl she's always been. When Jack saved her from an arms dealer, they spent three unforgettable days together waiting for rescue--and Gina fell hard for the sexy soldier before he walked away forever.
But now she needs his help and she'll do anything to get it. Though Jack can never forgive Gina for keeping his child from him, he'll do everything in his power--and HOT's--to bring their son home safely.
Nothing is what it seems, however, and their fates hang in the balance as someone else pulls the strings...and brings them ever closer to an explosive confrontation that could either save their son--or cost them everything.
A few minutes later Jack came into the bedroom. She thought she should tell him to knock first or something, but she didn’t have the energy. The barriers that would normally be there between her and a man just weren’t there with Jack.
“You didn’t eat enough on the plane. I ordered room service.”
“I’m not hungry.”
“Gina.” He walked into the room and stopped in front of her. His blue eyes roamed her face while her heart kicked up. When he met her eyes again, her breath hitched. “You have to rest and you have to eat. We don’t know what’s going to happen, and you need to be strong. That’s one of the rules on a mission. Take care of yourself or you’re no good to your team.”
“I’m not part of your team. I’m just me.”
“You aren’t alone on this. We’re here, and that makes you part of the team. I’m ordering you to eat, same as I’d order my spotter or anyone else under my authority, and then I’m ordering you to rest.”
“I’m not under your authority.” Maybe she should be angry at the way he was talking to her, but she was oddly touched. God, just blame it on stress and a situation outside her control. She needed to push this man away, but she couldn’t seem to do it.
“Think of this like the island. I’m the one with the experience. I know what I’m doing. I got you out of there, didn’t I?”
She nodded.
“Trust me to get you out of here too, okay?”
“All right.”
He lifted an eyebrow. “You gonna eat when the food gets here?”
“Depends on what you ordered. I hate squash, for instance.”
“Then I’ll call and cancel the squash sandwich.”
She couldn’t help but laugh even though it had an edge that could turn into panic at any moment. “You didn’t order anything of the sort.”
“No.” He backed away and reached for the door handle. “Put on your pajamas. Get comfortable.”
“I don’t wear pajamas. I don’t wear anything.”
He stopped in mid-swing and she wanted to laugh again. She did wear pajamas, but she’d wanted to rattle him. Just because.
“Well, honey, you can come out here in nothing if you want, but it’ll probably be embarrassing for you and the delivery person both. Still, you can tip him good and I’m sure it’ll be fine.”
He shot her a grin before shutting the door behind him. Gina stood there with her heart pounding and her pulse skipping and wondered just what it was about him that made her want to get beneath his skin.

Book Spotlight: Time's Embrace by Deb Stover...

Three of bestselling author Deb Stover's most-loved time travel romance novels are collected here for the first time in Time's Embrace.  These classic romance stories are a tour de force adventure through love and history as only Deb Stover can create.

Time’s Embrace includes the novels Almost An Angel, A Moment in Time, Another Dawn, and a never-before published short story sequel to Another Dawn.

In Almost An Angel, Fate has given Hilary Brown one more chance at life. After Zach Ryan walks into her afterlife, will he lead her to Heaven’s gate or is he the temptation that will pave the path to Hell?

In A Moment In Time, hairdresser Jackie Clarke finds herself suddenly a saloon singer in the middle of 1891 Colorado. She just may fall into the arms of a miner with a heart of gold, if all goes right…

Another Dawn starts with Luke Nolan on the night of his scheduled execution. After meeting a beautiful young doctor named Sofie, the two are sent back in time more than a century after a freak explosion. After she loses her memory, Luke falls in love with her. Will their love survive the future?

Almost An Angel by Deb Stover

Limping off the porch, Zach headed toward the back of the building. But his quest came to an abrupt halt when he came face to nose with a bear, even taller than the invisible rabbit who'd been his companion for most of his adult life. It was the biggest bear he'd ever seen. The Los Angeles County Zoo just didn't grow them in the giant economy size.
"Holy Mother of..."
He backed toward the door, but the huge beast seemed curious--or hungry--enough to pursue him, making noises deep in its furry chest that sounded nothing like Gentle Ben or Smokey. If this was a hungry bear, which Zach was predisposed to believe all such creatures were, he was as good as lunch.
Pinned against the formidable front door, Zach swallowed hard when the monster planted one huge paw on either side of his face and just stood there on its hind legs, staring at its prey. The beast sniffed and exhaled in Zach's face. Its breath smelled like something had crawled inside it and died.
And I'm next.
So this was his fate. Zach Ryan, aerospace engineer, would end his less than memorable life in the intestines of a gigantic black bear. He closed his eyes for a moment, waiting for the creature to take its first bite, but nothing happened.
Peeking through one eye, Zach thought it was too good to be true. The beast simply groaned, dropped to all fours and turned away. Maybe he didn't like the smell of Californians who'd lived in smog all their lives.
"Off with you, silly old bear,"a woman's voice commanded as she prodded the beast in the haunches with a long stick. "Go find a tree and scratch your back. There's nothing for you here."
Zach blinked and rubbed his eyes in disbelief as the bear lumbered away from town and vanished into the woods. He heaved a sigh of relief, then turned his gaze to the woman who seemed to have appeared from nowhere.
She was a curious creature, wearing a calf-length red dress with a wide black belt laced up the front, accentuating full breasts and a small waist. Though he would have enjoyed permitting his gaze to linger on the swells of flesh pressed above the belt, Zach looked downward and discovered shapely legs encased in red and black striped stockings. Interesting fashion accessory.
Looking back up the length of her, he noticed a prominent scar on her neck, marring her fair complexion. It was a red mark, forming a perfect, hideous circle around her slender neck. Not wanting to be rude, Zach dragged his attention from the scar. She had plenty of assets to admire.
Her golden hair was pulled away from her face and held with a comb at her crown, while the back and sides hung in soft curls nearly to her waist. She looked like...
Miss Kitty.
He must be imagining things. Besides, Miss Kitty had red hair, not blond. This woman was like something out of an old John Wayne movie. Or a fairy tale? If she was Goldilocks, he sure as hell hoped Mama Bear and Baby Bear weren't lurking nearby, waiting to take up where Papa'd left off.
He took a tentative step toward her, noting the way the sunlight shone in her hair as she stood staring at him with the makeshift bear-prod still clutched in her hands. She blinked at him with a pair of the largest blue eyes he'd ever seen.
She was beautiful.
Then she smiled and he thought for certain he must be imagining her. This gorgeous woman couldn't be out here alone, could she? Dressed like a saloon girl?
"I helped you. Didn't I?"she asked eagerly, dropping her long pole as he approached. "I'm Hilary Brown. Welcome to Columbine, sir."
"Ms. Brown."Zach extended his hand, waiting for her to shake it, but she simply stared at him. Assuming Rocky Mountain women must not be as liberated as those in Los Angeles--thank God--he grinned crookedly and nodded. "Yeah, if you hadn't come along I'd have been bear kibble in another minute. Thanks. You an animal trainer, or something?"
She frowned, smiled, then nodded vigorously, obviously undecided. Her eyes lit up like a child's on Christmas morning. "I'm sure glad to see you. Really glad." She sighed and mopped her brow with the back of her hand. "It seems like forever since there's been a human being in Columbine."
Zach shook his head and chuckled. "You mean another human being. Don't you?"

About The Author:

At the tender age of four, Deb Stover declared her candidacy to become the first female President of the United States. She took a detour to play Lois Lane, and penned her first Letter to The Editor at age eleven. The Lois Lane gig suited her well, so she stuck with it for a while, but in the end she couldn't bring herself to blow Clark Kent's cover for the Big Story. Then she fell in love with and married her own real American Hero, so Superman was free to continue fighting for justice (seriously, what is Clark doing about the dearth of phone booths these days?).
Considering her extensive personal experience with real heroes (Dad, Superman, Husband), redirecting her passion for writing from journalism to Romance Novels seemed a natural progression. Since publication of Shades of Rose in 1995, she has received dozens of awards for her work, which includes over twenty titles in a variety of languages and formats.
A native of Wichita, Kansas, Deb and her family have lived in five states, but after her Hero Husband's death, she recently made the decision to follow the Yellow Brick Road back to be near her Hero Dad in Kansas. After all "there's no place like home."
Of course, there's still the unfinished matter of her presidential campaign, but first she has many more stories left to pen....

Sessions Interrupted Teaser 1

Doc’s mouth closed and, already resembling that wet puppy, her eyes followed suit. Hurt washed over her features and if I could have punched myself I would have.

“I didn’t mean…” She left as quickly as she’d come, dashing back into the bar. “Dude,” I said to Todd. “I’m sorry. I called for you,” Todd explained. “She’s parked out front, K.” Wink nodded. “Go through the gate. That would be quicker.” So I did, setting off the security alarm, which bellowed out in the night. When I rounded the corner in the rain, she was digging in her very well-worn-out jeans. Water surged down the street, rushing over her feet and as she clicked the key fob unlocking her car, one of her flip-flops got caught in the flow of water. In my leather boots, I stepped off the curb and grabbed it. Her eyes found me standing ankle deep in the water. I waded toward her as water seeped into my boots. “Cinderella?” I asked, holding up the flip-flop. The rain streaked her face, or was it tears? “It’s a flip-flop, not a glass slipper. Life’s not a fairy tale, Mr. Scott.” “It sure could be. And we’re back to that Mr. Scott shit, eh? Even after I took you home the other night?” She snatched the flip-flop from me and slid it back on her foot. “Nothing happened that night. Nothing will ever happen. I’m not really a sex-behind-the-bar kind of gal,” she said, opening her car door. I slammed it shut before she could climb in. “Nothing happened back there by the way. Why did you come here?” “I’m your therapist, Mr. Scott. You didn’t show for your appointment and I was worried.” “Bullshit!” I shouted, batting the rain from my lashes. Her finger jabbed in front of my face as if I were two. “I could request a warrant for you this minute.” Her hair was sopping wet and her face looked like a raccoon. The hottest damn raccoon I’d ever seen. “Let’s do therapy right now,” I suggested. “Mr. Scott. That would be highly…” I shoved her up against the car and pressed my body to hers. I hovered over her by a foot, and a part of me wanted to intimidate her. “Enough of the Mr. Scott shit,” I said. Her mouth slightly parted as her eyes hooded. As disgusted as she was by me, I turned her on, I think. I wanted to turn her on. I wanted to taste those full lips. I wanted to know if her tongue was shy or aggressive. And I wanted to see her eyes roll back as I buried myself inside her. “Say my name,” I ordered. The lashes around her eyes were fanned out beautifully and the gray of her eyes flickered back and forth between my eyes and my mouth. “Say it!” I demanded through clenched teeth. “Kieran,” she whispered. I was harder now than when I was inches from Nikki’s mouth. “Say it again.” “Kieran…” This time it sounded more like a cry and I wanted to kiss her just like she’d told me she liked. Drunk or not, I remembered. Little, slow pecks. Just a bit of tongue. I wouldn’t screw it up. Her chin quivered as the rain pelted down. I’d actually forgotten it was raining until I saw it streaming down her perfect face. It was then that I realized she didn’t have on a bra and her nipples poked through the gray shirt beautifully. Damn. My tongue darted out, running the length of my lips with simply the thought of wrapping them around those perfect pebbles. “Would you have sought out another client if they didn’t show?” I asked. “What?” “If one of your other clients didn’t show, would you track them down?” “I don’t know,” she said squeezing her eyes shut. “Yes you do. Tell me.” Her eyes opened as her teeth pressed softly into her bottom lip. “No. I wouldn’t track them down.” This brought me pure satisfaction. “I’ll be there Wednesday.” She nodded. “What time?” I asked. “Four?” I nodded. “See me before then. Please.” “I can’t Kieran…” “Fine. Wednesday at four.” And I swear to God, I didn’t want her to go. I wanted her to stay with me…go home with me. Todd and Wink were right: I was screwed.

I've been waiting for this book to be released!!!

Review: Outlaw Revenge by London Casey...4 out of 5 Rating...

Outlaw Revenge (Back Down Devil MC, #1)Outlaw Revenge by London Casey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first read from London Casey and I'm not exactly sure how to review this one. lol The story was good but some of the things that happened disturbed me a little. It feels wrong to me to say that I loved Gaige when he did some of the things he did and the same goes with the other members of the club. But I couldn't stop reading and I'm looking forward to more.

Blaine was so disgusting but he had me laughing at the same time. He was such a creeper but loyal to Gaige and the club. I have never read another character like him before. I really want to find out more about Nate and what his story is. As well as Jace and Shay.

The way the book ended definitely has me interested in what is coming next. I'm hoping to see more of Gaige and Emily. I liked these two as a couple and I actually liked how fast they got together. Gaige's character was scary and definitely screwed up but he loved Emily and protected her in his own way. I especially loved that he wasn't a cheater!! lol

I was definitely entertained and can't wait for book#2.

BLURB:
Emily didn't want to go watch a bunch of bikers fight each other, and by the time the fight is over, her best friend is shot dead and Emily finds herself clutching the leather cut of a sexy guy named Gaige as she's on the back of his motorcycle, escaping gunfire.

As Vice President of Back Down Devil MC, Gaige Gaen’s world is consumed by the club, the life, and finding a way to make it all work. The last thing he needs on his plate - or in his bed - is a woman like Emily. He can't stop looking at her, and he definitely can't stop touching her. He promises to avenge the death of Emily's best friend, Rachel, but then the situation takes a turn for the worse when Rachel's father - a rich man hell bent on revenge - shows up and wants answers that the MC doesn't have.

Emily is in fear of returning to a past she had escaped. She and Gaige can't seem to stop their feelings for each other, and as her dangerous past digs its way into the present, Gaige and Back Down Devil are now in the line of fire.

The war in Emily and Gaige's hearts rage on, but the war outside needs to be fought... the question is, who is going to make it out alive?

Review: Proving Paul's Promise by Tammy Falkner...5 out of 5 Rating...

Proving Paul's Promise (The Reed Brothers, #5)Proving Paul's Promise by Tammy Falkner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh...I have been waiting for Paul *sigh* Just love him!! Such a great series that just keeps getting better with each Reed brother!! I loved Paul and Friday together and was so glad that they finally got their HEA. They were so funny together but WOW their HEA did not come easy. I was mad at Friday for the way she treated Paul after the park incident. He was only trying to help her and I think she made him suffer more than she should have. I could understand her needing space to think but I didn't like how she handled it. Loved the part where Logan and Emily have their baby~so sweet!!! Loved the ending!! Such a great book. Looking forward to Sam.

BLURB:
He has watched her from afar…

Paul Reed has been raising children since he was a child himself, but he wouldn’t change his life, even if given an opportunity. That is, until one of his brothers says four little words that shake the foundation of his world. “She’s not a lesbian,” shouldn’t be quite so earth shattering, but suddenly the woman he loves is available, and he’ll do whatever it takes to win her over.

They call her Friday, and she’s hiding more than just her name...

Friday has worked in the Reeds’ tattoo parlor for four years. She’s become more than just an employee, and she loves being in the middle of something so wonderful. She treasures the way the Reeds live for one another, and she adores the way they take care of their family. She would do just about anything to be part of it, if not for the fact that she doesn’t deserve a family of her own. Or does she? Friday is punishing herself for her past, and by doing so, she pushes away the one man who could truly love her.

Separately, they’re strong. Together, they’re vulnerable. As a team, they rock.

Series Review: Nameless, Christening and Incarnate by Claire Kent...

NamelessNameless (Book #1) by Claire Kent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked this book so much. Loved Seth and Erin. I only wish that some of it would have been from Seth's POV. I would have loved to read what he was really thinking in some of the situations that happened. Seth was such a complicated character but in a way Erin was too. They both had their own set of issues to work through. So good!

BLURB:
After a failed marriage to a domineering man, Erin refuses to be controlled by anything or anyone. That includes Seth, the father of her baby—a man who was supposed to be only a one-night-stand, a man who’s used to always getting his way.

There’s a reason that Seth Thomas, a successful defense attorney, is often referred to as the Bulldozer. If something needs to happen, he makes it happen. That includes being part of his baby’s life—even if he never expected to be a father, even if Erin doesn’t really trust him.

They’ll work out an arrangement in the best interest of their baby—and if they occasionally have sex, well, that’s just an added perk—but they both agree on one thing.

What they have will never be love.

Christening (Nameless, #1.5)Christening  by Claire Kent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love Seth and Erin so much and I was so happy to get more of them 4 years later. It was hard to see them struggling with their relationship again but it made the story feel more real to me because everything isn't always sunshine and roses. I did think that Erin may have been a little hard on Seth but I totally understood and she really wasn't trying to hurt him. I loved that they were able to work through their problems and come out the better for it in the end. They are such a great couple. Mackenzie and Anna were so cute and it was interesting to me watching them grow as a family. Another great addition to the series. I'm quickly becoming a HUGE fan of Claire Kent and looking forward to more.

BLURB:
Erin thought she reached a hard-won happy ending. She has a sexy, successful husband, two beautiful daughters, and a life of ease and luxury.

She adores her husband, but she never sees him anymore, and he seems to drift farther away every day. She loves being a mother, but she wants to be Erin too--and she doesn't think she is anymore.

She and Seth have never stopped loving each other. It's just that love can be harder than she thought.

Sequel to Nameless.

IncarnateIncarnate  by Claire Kent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was my favorite of the series. LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. This series is so emotional. I absolutely adore Seth~he is still complicated and still struggles with his feelings but to the core he is all good. His character tries so hard to be a good dad and husband and when he makes mistakes he tries so hard to fix them. He loves his family so much. I love the way that Erin really sees him and understands him so well. I love how she tries to explain Seth to their daughters to make them see what he is really feeling. Just love them together so much!!! This story pulled me in and I wish that it was longer because I wasn't ready to let this family go. So good and although this story was just as emotional as the others, it was also so funny. Anna cracks me up. This is definitely a favorite of mine. Belle's Book Bag Top Pick.

BLURB:
Seventeen years ago, a one-night stand between Erin and Seth led to an accidental pregnancy, which led to partnership, then to love, then to marriage, then to family. Through all of that, their lives have never gotten less complicated. Now their daughters are teenagers, and they have to adjust to a new stage of life.

Incarnate is a slice-of-life novella that is best read after the preceding books about Erin and Seth--Nameless and Christening.

Genre: Romantic Suspense

Summary

There is a spy in S&D systems who is leaking top-secret information that could lead to extreme disaster. It's up to Shane Gallagher to uncover the mole and set things right.

Systems analyst Elena Reyes had no intention of stealing company secrets until her brother's life was threatened by the cruelest of mobsters. When Elena finally confesses her deeds to Shane, he's ready to do everything he can to keep her out of danger. But will Shane's help be enough to protect them, or will his good intentions leave them all for dead?

Excerpt

Elena had never thought about seducIng a man. She wasn’t even sure of her moves. But she knew that Shane wanted her, even if he wasn’t prepared to admit it. She also knew he felt protective of her, which was probably part of the conflict he must be feeling.

Before he could come up with another objection, she cupped the back of his head with her hands and brought his face down as she raised her own head toward him.

She hadn’t been sure what would happen. Or perhaps she’d been afraid that he’d wrench himself away from her. But the danger must have affected his emotions as well as her own. When their lips met, it was as though someone had tossed a match into a pile of gasoline- soaked kindling. Invisible flames rose as heat flared between them.

She heard him growl her name and felt him gather her closer as he kissed her with purpose, running his hands up and down her back.

The heat coming off him made her dizzy. She should be afraid, but she kept kissing him, letting him feel all the passion that she’d held inside herself for so long.

Opening her lips, she invited him to explore her mouth, then did the same with him, absorbing his taste and the way the mouth-to-mouth contact sent shock waves to every part of her body.

“You know that you’re playing with fire?” he asked.

“I know what I want.”

“Then take off your clothes.”

Again, a dose of reality. Was she ready to get undressed in front of him? Or was she going to back away—the way he hoped she would.

She wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of scaring her off. Not because she was trying to score any points, but because what she wanted hadn’t changed, even if he was trying to make her take a step back.

She did step back, but only a few feet. She kept her gaze on him as she reached for the hem of the T-shirt and pulled it over her head, then let it drop on the floor so that she stood before him naked to the waist…
