Review: Assumption by Aurora Rose Reynolds...

Assumption (Underground Kings, #1)Assumption by Aurora Rose Reynolds
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Aurora Rose Reynolds sucked me in with each book in her Until series and I have been waiting anxiously for Kenton. So much more than I imagined and I LOVED every second of it. I loved how the first couple chapters were just from Autumn's POV and then we started to get Kenton's. I needed his POV to explain why in the beginning he was such an ass to her. lol

I already knew that I would love Kenton going into this book but I was surprised how much I loved Autumn. She had such a hard life but still remained caring and sweet and funny. I hated that in the beginning Kenton struggled with her being a stripper and couldn't see past that to who she really was. So funny when he learned the truth of where she was really working. I loved that Kenton had to work to get Autumn and she didn't give in to him so easily after the things he had said to her. She needed him to prove himself to her and he did. *sigh* I loved them so much as a couple. I loved that they found their "home" in each other~very sweet!!

The part with Autumn and what she did to Kenton's bed cracked me up!! Oh and I loved when Kenton brought her to Sunday dinner to meet everyone. Autumn was so cute!! Oh and when she first met Justin. So funny.

This book was filled with Alpha male hotness, romance, a sweet and feisty redhead, laughter, heartache, family and a great cast of secondary characters. Everything that I love about reading. The epilogue was so awesome that I could just keep reading that!!

Another great book from Aurora and I cannot wait for more. This is definitely a reread for me!!

as·sump·tion:

a thing that is accepted as true or as certain to happen, without proof

They say when you assume that you make an ass out of you and me. Kenton Mayson learned this lesson firsthand when he made assumptions about Autumn Freeman and the kind of woman she is based on what little information he had. What he finds out is she’s not only beautiful, but also smart, funny, a fighter, and exactly the kind of woman he wants to share his life with. Autumn made assumptions of her own about Kenton, and now he needs to prove her wrong in order to protect her and their future.

EDEN'S TOP FIVE FAVORITE LINES IN THIN LOVE

1. “We haven’t met, not really.” Then, she decided to be smug, see how his ego would deflate if she embarrassed him. “Oh wait. We have. I seem to recall you in the locker room getting serviced.”

Keira calling Kona out on his nefarious, disgusting behavior. I love how shocked he is by this revelations.

2. “Come get wet with us or fuck off”

Oh, Kona, you cheeky ho. I love this line because I think it perfectly sums up what kind of man Keira is convinced Kona is. He’s twenty. He’s gorgeous. He’s well liked and full of raging, entitles hormones.

3. “Look at him. That isn’t a dude who thinks you’re no big deal.”

Mark Burke is a good friend to Keira throughout the novel and especially off stage while she’s trying to raise Ransom. This line I think, coming from Mark is quite telling. It’s when Mark points out to her that Kona isn’t playing around, that he really wants her, that Keira finally wises up. Until Mark mentioned it, she’d repressed any idea that Kona’s intentions went beyond just wanting her.

4. “This is stupid. This, I’m not…this isn’t me.”
“No. It’s not.” Kona pulled her legs from his waist and his hands moved back to her face. His voice was level, calm. “This is you with me.”

That pervert from #2 is gone and in this moment, Kona tells Keira, and the reader, that this is the crux of their relationship. It’s a push/pull. They feed off of each other and will for the rest of their lives. It’s in this moment the reader understands that the tug of war, the denial, is over. Now begins the real shit.

5. “Only God could be prouder of his son.”

Kona loves Keira and he’s scared, very scared, actually about meeting Ransom. He doesn’t know what to expect. He’s worried that Ransom will be bitter, angry at him for not being in his life. But one day with the boy, seeing him interact with his friends, with Keira, being exposed to his openness, his kindness and Kona is a bit smitten. He’s a father and just one day with his son, Kona’s life changes and he couldn’t be happier about it.

Tour Hosted by: As the Pages Turn

Love isn't supposed to be an addiction. It isn't supposed to leave you bleeding. Kona pushed, Keira pulled, and in their wake, they left behind destruction. She sacrificed everything for him. It wasn't enough. But the wounds of the past can never be completely forgotten and still the flame remains, slumbers between the pleasure of yesterday and the thought of what might have been. Now, sixteen years later, Keira returns home to bury the mother who betrayed her, just as Kona tries to hold onto what remains of his NFL career with the New Orleans Steamers. Across the crowded bustle of a busy French Market, their paths collide, conjuring forgotten memories of a consuming touch, skin on skin, and the still smoldering fire that begs to be rekindled. When Kona realizes the trifecta of betrayal—his, Keira's and those lies told to keep them apart—his life is irrevocably changed and he once again takes Keira down with him into the fire that threatens to ignite them both.

“What’s the matter, Wildcat?” Kona lay on top of her, held her hip with his long fingers.
“You nervous?” She could only manage a nod and Kona smiled, moving his mouth to her neck, down her shoulder, kissing lightly. “We don’t have to do this. I can wait.” “No!” She panicked at the thought. He laughed at her excitement and that touch on her hip got tighter. “No,” she said, voice a bit calmer. “I want you, Kona.” He looked at her, smile gone, expression relaxed. “I’ve wanted you for weeks and weeks.” Keira exhaled, moving the hair off her forehead. “It’s just been a while and you’re so…” She flicked her eyes down then quickly back up again. “You’re a lot bigger than I expected.” “Ha, sweetheart, you’re good for my ego, but it’s just me.” Kona kissed her again, slipping just the tip of his tongue into her mouth before he pulled away. “I’ll be easy with you, Wildcat. I’ll be so slow and good, but maybe this will help.” Kona’s hand left her hip, slipped between her thighs easily and he coaxed more wetness from her, teasing her lips, taking his time to touch her clit. Keira shuddered, held her hand against his wrist as he continued and Kona took her lead, rubbed once more over her clit before he slipped two fingers inside her. He’d learned her body in the past few weeks and Keira had been grateful that she didn’t have to tell him what she wanted, what felt best. He always seemed to know. His mouth was warm, tongue eager as he kissed her, as those large fingers curled and his knuckles touched the spot that sent her mind swimming. He never had to touch her for long, always knew exactly how to read the lift of her voice, the collection of sounds that gave away just how good she felt when he touched her. That night was no exception. Just a few sure rubs of his knuckles against her G-spot and Keira was flying, hips off the mattress as her body chased that orgasm. “Beautiful. Every time, Wildcat. So beautiful.” Another kiss against her neck, with Keira still spinning on the crest of her orgasm and Kona slipped inside of her. “God…” Kona moved his hips slow, barely moved an inch and already Keira felt full, felt she couldn’t be stretched any further. When he slid deeper, she hissed, not from the pain but from how sensitive she already was. “You okay? You want me to stop?” “No,” she told him, opening her eyes so he’d know she wasn’t hurting. “God, no, please keep going. You just fill me up. It’s so good, bebe.” Kona stilled inside her and a small quirk of his mouth told Keira he was pleased. “That’s the first time you’ve ever called me that.” “I’ll say it again just to keep that smile on your face.” Then Keira lifted her legs, wrapped them around Kona’s hips and she let herself be filled as he worked inside her. Everything about Kona was huge; his body, his cock, his voice, his presence and all of it filled Keira’s room as well as her body, moved around them and through them and she felt high, so high on him, on the sensation of him moving inside of her, his hands on her breasts, his fingers clasped with hers as he lifted her hands above her head on the pillow and pinned them there. Sweat pooled over their skin, met together in the twist of their bodies and when Kona stared down at her, kissed her like her lips would give him breath, Keira shuddered, squeezed against him. The light was thin and Keira could only make out the outline of his features, the small glint in his eyes and it was too much, too overwhelming, but she would not run this time, she wouldn’t tell herself she could do without this. Not again. Not anymore. She belonged to him. Her body, her heart, no matter how beaten and worn it was, belonged to Kona Hale. Keira squeezed against him again and Kona stilled, stared down at her with a smile that told her he wanted to control this, lead her. “Don’t squeeze,” he said, pulling her hips up, hitting inside her deeper. “If you open up, baby, go wide for me, relax, I can make you come hard, I can make it last for you.” A slow thrust, deeper, harder and Keira arched against him, relaxed her inner muscles even as she throbbed against him. “Perfect, so perfect.” This was deeper, freer somehow, letting Kona move them, letting him control the moment and Keira held onto Kona like he would anchor her, keep her from floating above herself. “Come for me, baby. Give it to me completely and I’ll make it so, so good for you. I’ll take care of you when you shatter against me.” And Keira listened, guessed that this is what Kona needed—that slip of control she gave to him. She let go, pushed out, relinquishing herself, giving her body to Kona, rather than closing off, pulling in, and the effect was substantial. He moved in closer, worked faster and Keira let herself open, relax until that heavenly sensation came upon her, urged on by Kona’s strong hands on her hips, his wide dick touching all the way inside her and when the orgasm came, it mirrored her heart—free, unyielding, explosive. “God… ,” Kona said, voice rising higher and higher with each grunt he made, hips slamming into her hard, fast, faster, and Keira knew he was hitting his crest. Shoulders shaking, hips pumping faster and faster, Kona released a groan, filling her, throbbing inside her as he came. Then he pulled his hand from hers and held the back of her neck, stared down at her with his thumb on her cheek. “This is always, Wildcat. You… you’re my always.”

Blog Tour & Giveaway: Gypsy Brothers Series by Lili St. Germain...

Gypsy Brothers Series
Seven Sons (Gypsy Brothers, #1)

Six Brothers (Gypsy Brothers, #2)

Five Miles (Gypsy Brothers, #3)

Four Score, Gypsy Brothers, #4)

Three Years (Gypsy Brothers, #5)

The story began with Seven Sons....

My father was most certainly NOT an innocent man. As the leader of the Gypsy Brothers MC, he was guilty of many things. But he died for a crime that he didn’t commit, framed by an enemy within who then stole his club and everything he had ever worked to protect.

Including my innocence.

When Dornan Ross framed my father, he set into motion a series of events that could never be undone. My father was murdered by Dornan Ross and his sons when I was fifteen years old.

Before my father died, Dornan and his sons stole my innocence, branded my skin and in doing so, ensured that their lives would be prematurely cut short. That they would suffer.

I’ve just turned twenty-one, and I’m out for blood. I'm out for revenge.

But I didn't expect to fall for Jase, the youngest brother in the club.

Now, I'm faced with an impossible choice - Jase, or avenging my fathers death?

Then there were Six Brothers.......
I have lied.

I have cheated.

I have given my body and my life to the man who destroyed my family and left me for dead.

I have killed, I have sinned, and worst of all, I have enjoyed the misery of others.

I have licked the salty tears of a father mourning his firstborn son, and nothing has ever tasted so sweet.

I have died, and I have been resurrected, a phoenix from the ashes.

I know I’m going to hell. I’ll burn in the fiery pits alongside Dornan and his sons for the things I’ve done, and for the things I’m about to do.

But I don’t care. It will be worth every lick of the devil's flames on my guilty flesh to destroy Dornan Ross.

One down. Six to go.

Five Miles.....

My father taught me the importance of an eye for an eye—a cardinal rule, ingrained in every club member.

A life for a life.

Seven lives in payment for an unimaginable list of sins.

People might wonder why I’m doing this. If this vengeance is borne from some noble cause, that I’m trying to prevent others from suffering at the hands of Dornan Ross and his sons.

But I’m no vigilante.

I’m doing it for me. I’m doing it because I want to. Because the look on Maxi and Chad’s faces when I killed them was a balm to my soul.

This is the fate they have earned. The penance for their crimes.

Two down, five to go.

Time to send some of these brothers off with a bang.

Four Score ....

Love and hate aren’t all that different.

Two sides of the same coin, the yin and the yang.

Once upon a time, Jason Ross loved me. And now that he's in danger of figuring out what I've done, I see the love and the hate warring within him.

I see the way he looks at me.

The way he wonders how I could do the things I’ve done.

I hear it in the way he begs me to stop, to leave his father and this life and never look back.

But there’s only one way I’m leaving LA.

And then there was Three Years.....

Every day for six years, I used to pray that I would find my way back to the boy I loved.

Until finally, one day, I did.

But that’s the funny thing about life. Nothing good ever lasts, not for me, anyway. You think you’re the one with the power, at least I did, but then I got careless. One tiny mistake, and now I am powerless to stop what comes next.

People think money equals power, but all the money in my bank account, the dirty notes laundered clean that my father left for me, are useless.

Money does not equal power. Power is held by the one with the knife in his hand, tracing shallow cuts into your skin.

Power is held by the one who owns you.

I had power once.

                                                    Now, I have nothing.

From Seven Sons:
“What did you take?” I ask calmly, sitting up on the side of the bed. I am alarmed. He can’t die, not now, not before he suffers for me. It would be too easy for him to just OD and die before I’ve made him regret ever meeting my father. He doesn’t answer, just starts to pace the room, his cock still erect in front of him, his index finger nervously bouncing against the trigger of his gun. “Dornan, you need to calm down,” I say, still in shock and not ready for him to shoot me, too. “You’ve taken something.”“Too pure,” he says, “too pure. We gotta cut it down, cut it down–”“Hey!” I say loudly, trying to cut through his incoherent monologue.
He swings around and presses the tip of the gun to my forehead. I gasp.“Why did you come here?” he asks me, his breathing short and sharp. He is angry. Angry and peaking.Stick to the story.“I had nowhere else to go,” I say honestly, and it is true. I had nowhere else to
