I love everything about this book so much I am giving it a double posting under L4C and also under my Currently Reading post!! (I think this is maybe only the 2nd L4C that I did that didn't have a half nekkid man on it!! LOL )
OMG...OMG...OMG... this is such an AMAZING book!!! I had no idea that it would be like this and touch me so deeply. I absolutely love it and don't want it to end!!! I am at 45% on Kindle and I have already laughed so much and cried so much and fell so deeply in love with the characters that I am worn out from the emotions but I can't put it down!!! LOL   Poughkeepsie is exactly why I am addicted to reading!!  :)

OMG...OMG...OMG... this is such an AMAZING book!!! I had no idea that it would be like this and touch me so deeply. I absolutely love it and don't want it to end!!! Detective Drew Alwyn tapped his pen to the beat of the song in his head while he waited for Lieutenant Wallace to begin the briefing session.
In his twelve years with the Carrington Falls Police Department in Ohio, Drew had never imagined being alone. Wasn’t a cop supposed to have a good woman to come home to? The next time he walked into his apartment, a wilted spider plant would offer the only comfort, and Drew wasn’t the type to talk to greenery.
The scent of day-old coffee and industrial cleaner wafted into the cramped, grey discussion room. Drew rubbed his stomach to quell the rumbling. Coffee sounded awful, but a sandwich sounded so good—something with roast beef and cheese. When had he eaten last? The club sandwich at eleven-thirty. He flicked his wrist to check the time on his thick watch. Five-fifteen. Damn. vHe grabbed the bottle of soda from his backpack and uncapped it, then took a long draw. The sugar wouldn’t quiet his hunger, but the caffeine would keep him awake when he ventured on duty in an hour. He took a pen from his notebook, clicked the button at the top and began doodling. The sound of conversation in the hallway did nothing to take his mind off the undercover operation or the death of his friend and colleague, Sergeant Randy McCall.
Drew’s partner, a bear of a red-haired man named James Mateo, strolled into the room and sat down in the closest chair. "You ready for this one?"
Drew looked up from his sketch. "This one what? We knew the bastard couldn’t stay underground for long. We just gotta prove he’s the one who took McCall down and put him in the dumpster." He shuddered thinking about the photos of Randy hacked up and left to rot behind the gentlemen’s club.
James crossed his legs and flipped open his notepad. "True. Randy was one hell of an officer, even if he chose the damn stupid name of Slade as a cover. Tiny’s always looking to make a quick buck. You think he’s shaking down the girls? It was a stroke of genius to send you and Nester in as customers. You know the lay of the so-called land and Tiny thinks you’re clean. As clean as a bouncer in a strip club can be."
Drew added some details to his drawing and frowned. The woman in the sketch had begun to take on the features of the elusive female from down the hallway in his decoy apartment building. The soft-spoken brunette with the sparkling ice-blue eyes. The girl who lugged the enormous art portfolio down to the parking lot each morning. The one whose smile warmed his heart on the coldest evenings. The one woman he wanted to get to know better, preferably naked...and she had no idea.
He ground his teeth together. With this new undercover operation, any meeting with the sweet-natured female was out of the question. At least, not under the pretence of the truth.
"Is she your new girlfriend?"
Drew crinkled his brows. "No. I can’t get with her." vJames elbowed Drew’s ribs. "Why the hell not? If she’s as hot as your scribble there, then you’d better hit that."
Drew shook his head. "I can’t get involved while undercover. You know the rules as well as I do. Plus, if Carlie found out she’d kill me."
James slapped the pad on the wooden desk. "Bullshit. She walked away from you to screw around with Troy Balleswicz over in Vice. She doesn’t deserve your second chances. So what’s this chick’s name?"
Drew tossed his pen onto his own graffiti-decorated desk. "You’re right. I don’t owe Carlie anything, but Wallace put her in the Silver Steel as one of the dancers—Gold Dust Woman, if I’m not mistaken. If I get the security detail, then I gotta work with her. She’ll make life hell for any other female in my life. I don’t need that kind of crap right now."
James folded his arms. "You didn’t answer my question. What’s Scribble’s real name?"
"I’m not sure what her real name is. They have stage names." Drew raked his fingers through his hair. "I still haven’t worked up the nerve to speak to her. She’s quiet and always on the move. I can’t pin her down unless she’s at the club and I don’t want to spook her by coming off as a pervert or another guy wanting to cop a quick feel." He averted his gaze from Mateo. "Trust me... If I could, I would ask this girl for a private dance."
Lieutenant Frank Wallace strolled into the room with retired Detective Ross Malsam in tow. James dug his elbow into Drew’s ribs again. "When this is all over, you got a month of vacation time coming. Why not hunt her down and tag that?" 


I haven't read anything from this author yet but I love the blurb and excerpt!! LOL ;) This book for some reason is only available at All Romance--not sure why!!

REALLY LIKED IT!!

Rebecca J. Clark is a new author for me and Deliver the Moon is the first book that I have read of hers and after reading only the first couple of pages, I knew it wouldn't be my last. 

I enjoyed this book so much. I fell in love with Louisa and Gabe as they struggled to recapture their love for one another. They had to overcome the tragedy of losing their son, Gabe walking away when Louisa needed him the most and Louisa's parents dislike for Gabe.  I was rooting for their HEA right from the beginning and I thought Rebecca did a great job sharing their journey towards a much deserved second chance. The epilogue was so sweet--I would have loved if Rebecca would have wrote it a few years out but it was still a great epilogue.  I also loved the story between Sarah and Arty and Louisa's grandmom was so cute -- all three of these characters just added to the story. 


I will definitely be looking for more from Rebecca J. Clark. 4 out of 5 rating.

Evie rolled her eyes and stepped behind him, tapping him on the back. The metal strainer clattered in the sink and a blur of motion barely registered before steely hands gripped her forearms. Oh my God! In a flurry of movement, he snatched her off the floor and backed her against the stainless steel counter. Cold wet hands vised her arms. Her eyes snapped wide and the air whooshed from her lungs when his body slammed into hers.

Win’s eyes were narrowed, his breathing rapid through a clenched jaw, and a vein bulged in his forehead. “Don’t do that.”

The man was every inch the warrior, every hard tensed inch. He held her mid-air, so close they were nearly eyeball to eyeball. As his gaze traveled over her face and awareness evidently crept in as to the sex of his attacker, several inches of his frame hardened even more.

Evie swallowed. Oh, good Lord.

He glared and his nostrils flared.

“I…I’m sorry, Win. I called your name, but…but you didn’t answer. I was only trying to get your attention.” Her lips twitched at the humor in the situation—hadn’t Keira told her the man lost part of his hearing? Evidently she’d startled him. Poor soul. She felt a portion of herself return. A portion she’d hidden for so long; that light-hearted part of her soul that teased and cajoled. “Honest, I wasn’t trying to attack you.” She placed an open palm on his defined pecs and patted. “You’re safe with me, big guy.” Just to rattle him some more, she winked.

Win’s hazel eyes flashed for a second, then he slowly leaned in and whispered in her ear, “You’re not safe with me.”

I think this book sounds so good!! One if the heroes has Tourette's Syndrome--I love to read about imperfect heroes and the women who help them. LOL ;) Sexy cover!!

Reviewed: Guy's Angel by LeeAnn Sontheimer Murphy...

LeeAnn Sontheimer Murphy is a brand new author for me and since Guy's Angel is the first book that I have read from her, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect.  Even though I read the blurb, this book was nothing like I thought it was going to be and I am having a hard time trying to put my feelings about it into a review. So I guess I will break it down to my likes and dislikes.

What I liked:

          -The love shared between Angel and Guy.
          -Their attraction was immediate and the relationship stayed strong through out.
          -Guy was tortured, protective, sweet and loving. 
          -Sex scenes were good.
          -The whole concept of the story.
          -Angel being kind of naive but willing to stand up and fight for what she wanted no matter                            what others thought, especially when it came to loving Guy.
          -I really liked their relationship and wanted them to get their HEA.
          -Guy was about 10 years older then Angel but I never felt like he took advantage of her.
          -Epilogue - although I wish it was a few years later, I still really liked it.


What I didn't like:
          -Some of the dialogue - half I didn't understand.(I understand this is how people talked back then but it just didn't work for me. I could get passed it but it took something away from the story for me.) Examples: 

"That sounds nifty," Angel said.

"Absolutely and how," Angel said.

"That'd be swell Guy" 

"God, that was the bee's knees"

"We'll knock the rubes dead when we go barn storming." 

"Let me scrub up the dishes and we'll skedaddle."

"Posi-lute-ly"

"I can't pony up the cabbage for a hotel very often"

"Got a little cash for me?" (Guy saying this to Angel-he was asking her for a kiss-it took me a while to figure that out-I really thought he was asking her for money.) LOL

"We'll really bend our knees tomorrow so put on the Ritz if you want"

"That was the cat's meow!"

"Hey. Everything's jake."

"Applesauce - tell me."

"That was copasetic"

           -I didn't understand why Angel cut off her hair--I totally missed the whole point of this.
           -The Valkyries at the end--maybe because I am not Catholic--but I just didn't get the final confrontation (I got what was happening-I just didn't like it and wished she had went another way with the final confrontation.) I think it was far fetched and it definitely ruined that part of the story for me because up to that point, I actually really liked the addition of the Valkyrie and the roll they played through out the story.


I didn't hate the book but the parts that I didn't like battled with the parts that I did so even after sleeping on it I am still unsure how I feel about this book. LOL   3 out of 5 rating.


I will have to try another of LeeAnn Sontheimer Murphy's books to compare.
