Blog Tour & Giveaway & Excerpt: CONQUERING by Ryan Michele...

About CONQUERING

Wes ‘Stiff’ Collins lived life on the wild side. He worked from the moment he knew what the word meant, always making the best of every situation. There was nothing about his past he would change. Without a real family except his brother Xander, Stiff joined the Vipers Creed Motorcycle Club, and they taught him what it was to have people he could depend on. When his past crashed into his present, he vowed to protect the club that had always been his steady, even if it meant turning his back on the woman who had given him life.

Chelsea Miller’s life was simple: work, take care of her family, and save for the future. Everything was about having a goal and a plan. However, when her sister ended up battered and bruised on a diner floor, everything she thought was in her past suddenly threatened her future. In a moment, she had a new goal, everything else be damned. She would protect her family … at all costs.

Stiff and Chelsea’s worlds collide in an explosion of determination, strength, and lust. Will they give in to temptation, or will conquering each other be too steep a price? Two people not afraid to put in the work will either overcome everything in their paths or finally crumble under life’s troubles they can’t escape, all in the name of family. **Due to content, mature audiences only.**

Excerpt:
His hot lips came to mine in a fierce kiss that sucked me under the instant our flesh touched. He consumed my mouth, his tongue taking ownership. I swore he touched every inch inside of it, demanding more from me, and I gave in willingly.

He snaked his hand up my back to my neck then threaded his fingers through my hair. He massaged as he went, his rough hand strong and determined.

One thing I’d always loved was my head rubbed. As a kid, I would bargain with Jenn for her to rub it. It’d been a long time since I’d had this. I let every thought sweep away then focused on breathing and standing upright.

Stiff pulled away, his forehead pressing against mine. I gasped for breath as he began inhaling deep. With my eyes closed, I could feel his breath on my lips, cool against the wetness he’d left, sending more shivers through me.

“Sooner I get shit cleaned up at my place, the sooner you’re in my bed.” Stiff’s rough voice penetrated the air. I should have been appalled—hell, my stubborn ‘I am woman, hear me roar’ side wanted to be, but I melted, wanting to be in his bed. I wanted to forget the shit in my life, even if for a small moment. Maybe that would help me focus on a plan of action.

I reached up and gripped his leather and shirt. With utter boldness I didn’t know where I’d obtained, I stood on my tiptoes, kissed the tip of his nose, then whispered in his ear, “Then you better get cleaned up.”

He growled. Yes, growled like the panther I thought he was. His lips crashed into mine in another scorching kiss so hot I gripped his clothing in fear I would fall. Then he tore away and pushed me away from him.

“Got shit to do,” he said, moving toward the door. “That was hot, Chels. Don’t fuckin’ lose it. I’m comin’ back for ya.”

Blog Tour~Excerpt~Giveaway: Her Unexpected Detour by Kyra Jacobs...

Today we’re joined by romance author Kyra Jacobs, who is here to do a little Q&A about her and her newly released novel HER UNEXPECTED DETOUR (Entangled Bliss, September 2015). Be sure to read beyond the interview for a glimpse of the story’s main characters in an original excerpt from the book!

  1. Tell us a little about yourself and your latest/upcoming release.
Hi everyone! I’m Kyra Jacobs, Hoosier native who’s proud to call Fort Wayne, Indiana home. I love the outdoors, where you’ll typically find me either elbow-deep in snapdragons and lamb’s ear or playing sports with my two sons. And by playing, I really mean trying to keep up with them. Seriously, who knew 8 and 13 year-olds could be so coordinated!? Once the sun goes down and the day is done, though, I’m likely avoiding housework perched at my laptop working on the next novel.

  1. Describe yourself in 3 words.
“No Rain” Mom.
Ever seen the video for Blind Melon’s song “No Rain”? Well, the bumblebee in it—that’s so like me, usually off dancing to the beat of my own drum. Thankfully, my kids aren’t quite old enough to be mortified by that. Yet.

And don’t worry—the characters in this book are much more normal, even if they tend to be workaholics.

  1. If you could switch places with any of your characters, who would it be? Why?
Definitely Kayla. Why? Because her unexpected detour puts her in the direct path of one amazing guy. Grouch at the beginning or not, Brent Masterson has a heart of gold and takes good care of his family…and their latest guest. ;-)

  1. What scene was your favorite to write?
There were so many! Hmm, one that comes to mind was the “morning after” scene for Brent. He’s out in the barn, sipping on his coffee and enjoying the sunrise while reminiscing about the night before. Then his cousin Miles walks in and in mid-sentence realizes that Brent is in a much better mood than usual. I loved picturing him squirm beneath Miles’ knowing stare.

  1. What are you working on now?
I’m working through revisions on book two in this series, tentatively titled HER UNEXPECTED RETURN. It’s Miles Masterson’s story, and introduces a spunky new heroine named Stephanie Fitzpatrick who’s jaded about love and marriage. New to us, but she’s the one Miles let slip through his fingers back in college. We’ll have to wait and see if he’s finally willing to give love a chance...and if Stephanie is ready to let him try.

Thanks everyone for stopping by to visit, and for sharing in my release week excitement! Read on for an excerpt from HER UNEXPECTED DETOUR.

Excerpt
He ran his good hand through his hair and took a deep breath. Get it together, man. It wasn’t like she would fall in love with the country atmosphere and beg to never go home. He’d be polite, invite her in, and keep a safe distance. The coast would be clear in an hour or two. Then he could drive her into town, drop her off, and never look back.
With a sigh, Brent walked around and opened her door. She sat frozen, eyes fixed on the dark woods around them, still clutching the seat belt stretched across her chest.
“You all right?”
“Yes,” she said, her voice rough. “No. I don’t know.”
Yeah, he could relate. Brent made to rub the back of his neck, then sucked in a sharp breath as a jolt of pain flashed across his knuckles. The sound snapped Kayla out of her momentary paralysis, and she turned to face him as he cradled his hand.
“Oh my gosh, you really did hurt your hand.”
“It’s nothing.”
“No.” She scrambled down out of the truck. “No, we need to get you to a doctor.”
“I said it’s nothing.” He turned away. “Besides, we can’t go back into town for a few hours. Your biker buddies will be looking for us.”
She stepped around him and planted both hands on her hips. “Well, if it’s broken, we’ll just have to chance it.”
“It’s not broken,” he growled.
“Come on, you big baby. Let me have a look at it.”
He stared down at those blue eyes of hers and mentally cursed. Like he had the strength to deny her anything. “Fine.”
With great care she took his wrist in her hands and pulled it toward her. Her touch was feather-light on his skin. Gentle, almost a caress. The touch of someone who truly cared.
“What kind of pain are you feeling?”
Brent tried to answer, but his heart was in his throat. He wasn’t used to being handled like fine china, to being cared about by anyone but his remaining family. She looked up, concern clear on her face. He swallowed hard and tried again.
“It’s not broken, if that’s what you’re asking.”
“How do you know?”
“Because I’m a guy. I know what broken bones feel like because I’ve broken plenty of them before.”
Her right brow arched. “And only guys break bones?”
“Out of stupidity? Yes.”
“Okay, I’ll agree with you there. But you really should get that checked out.”
He slowly extracted his hand from hers. “I think some ice will do the job.”
Or some morphine, he thought. Too bad neither could heal the fissure forming in his ironclad heart.

Hunter's Moon by Tabitha Conall...Excerpt & Giveaway...

Title: Hunter's Moon
Author: Tabitha Conall
Genre: Erotic Paranormal Romance mmf (menage/werewolf)
Tate did everything she could to save her sister from being kidnapped, but
failed. When Sawyer sees Tate lying in the hospital after the beating the kidnapper gave her, he feels rage like he's never felt before. But it isn't until Tate and Sawyer go to Lunaville to help hunt down the kidnapper and retrieve Tate's sister that they meet Matt, their mate...and their lives are changed forever.
Despite wanting to find the nearest bed and complete the mating bond, cops Matt and Sawyer investigate the clues while holding Tate back from getting in the middle of things. But Tate's the one who finds the biggest clue of all, a scent trail that smells just like the kidnapper. In the midst of following the trail and tracking down clues, Matt and Sawyer try to heal Tate of her biggest wound--the guilt of not being able to stop the kidnapper herself.

This 20,000+ word novella is the second in the Mad Wolf's Harem series that starts with Harvest Moon.  It can be read as a stand-alone.
What did it take to make a werewolf cry?  Sawyer Hansen stood next to the hospital bed, machines beeping and whooshing around him.  Slowly, Tate McKenna opened her eyes to focus on him.  Her face looked puffy and discolored.  Worse, he could see dried tears caking her eyelashes.
Sawyer wanted to find the man who'd done this and tear him to pieces with his teeth and claws.  He had never felt so livid standing at a victim's bedside.  He'd visited plenty of hospitals and plenty of victims, seen them beat up, cut up, torn up, but this time he could barely contain his rage.

When he spoke, his voice had taken on the rumble of his wolf, and he was glad no humans were near.  Who did this?

Tate swallowed. I couldn't stop him. Her voice sounded scratchy and strained, and he could see why.  Purple and black marks ringed her neck.  The man had strangled her.

Claws sprung out of the tips of his fingers.  He'd never been so close to a change in such a public place.

Who?

Don't know, she whispered. Didn't know him.

Sawyer took a deep breath, trying to get control of himself again.  He couldn't change in the hospital with all these humans around.  And he couldn't be half-changed because a nurse could walk in at any second and see him.  He waited until his claws had retracted and the wolf had receded to an angry distance.

After he'd pulled the guest chair to the bedside and sat down, Sawyer said, Can you tell me what happened?

She closed her eyes for a second and then began, her shredded voice pulling at him with each syllable.  I was sleeping on the couch.  I woke up, didn't know why.  Saw a shadow moving toward Britton's room.  A man.  I waited until his back was turned and jumped him.

His hand fisted.  Tate was tall for a female, and athletic.  But the thought of her putting herself in such danger made him want to rip something in two.

And why?  Why did he feel this way about this particular victim when he'd never felt like this before?  Was it because she was Pack?

He was fast.  Strong.  We fought, but I couldn't stop him.  A tear slid down her cheek.  He took Britton and I couldn't even get up off the floor.

Sawyer waited a second, mostly to hold himself in check, but before he could ask another question, she continued.
He even took some of her stuff.  He made sure I was down, then he went into her bedroom.  I heard her scream.  Then a few minutes later he came out with her over his shoulder and he was carrying one of her little suitcases.

Do you know what was in it?

They hadn't even realized the perp had taken anything of Britton McKenna's.
 No.
Tate closed her eyes.  Why would he do that?

It might be good news. He'd say anything to make her feel better.  Which was strange for him because he usually played it straight, but he didn't stop to question it.  He wouldn't have taken a suitcase full of her things unless he meant to keep her a while. You mean she could still be alive.
Yeah. He itched to take her hand, just for the comfort it might give her.

She gazed at him.  I already know she's alive.  I'd know if she died.

How was he supposed to interpret that?  No wolves he knew of had psychic
abilities.
Don't question it.  We're not twins; it's not one of those things where I feel her pain or something.  But she's my sister.  I'd just...know.

He didn't get it, but he could go with the evidence on this one.
There was a good chance Britton McKenna still lived.  We're going to do everything we can to get her back.
I know.  I'm going to help.

His wolf surged up, angry the female would try to put herself in harm's way again.  You've done your part.  We can handle it from here.
